But no, I shouldn’t have. You are doing amazing things now, and I could never bring myself to ask you to stop. You need to be there more than I want you to be here with me. You need to do this more than I want you to help me do what you basically did last year. If ever I make you feel guilty for going, don’t let me. What you’re doing could mean the whole WORLD will need you, your skill, your intelligence, everything about you—more than I want it for myself.

I wish the world was flat like the old days, so I could travel just by folding the map. No more airplanes or speed trains or freeways. There’d be no distance that could hold us back.
